Fashion Week Honduras 2/4
Although part 1 was great we must continue. Today we talk about the last 3 shows of the first day. This section offered a mixture of menswear, jewelry and a newcomers. Sounds exciting? Have a look:
Hnos. Galeano

Photography: Nancy Allen
This line offers both womens- and menswear but their main focus is the second one, or at least as I perceive it. Brothers Daniel and Francisco Galeano presented this year a retro-vanguardism collection inspired in the 30s and 70s. The black/white dress was quite amazing, the highlight of the collection I believe. It is nice to see honduran designers venturing more to the extreme side of design. The menswear line was a good fusion between modern and latin, as it is important to consider that latin men have very different figures from those of the european men and that is why it is hard to achieve a modern or edgy look and yet keep it latin. Good job!
Sofia-Sofia

Photography: Nancy Allen
The brand Sofia-Sofia presented a selection of elegant and modern jewelry pieces which encapsulate honduran femininity at its best. Great to have a break to think about what to pair up all the clothes with.
Palette

Photography: Nancy Allen
Last but not least a newcomer took the stage and dazzled the audience. Palette is a new brand, founded by Cecilia Lopez and Melissa Valencia, which has come to rapidly earn its position in the honduran fashion industry. Soon we will present an interview with them here in My Little Wardrobe to learn a little more about them as they share how the brand was born. Coming soon, wait for it!
Their collection is characterized by chic elegance and I believe it is directed to young women who are not afraid to make a fashion statement but always keeping elegance in mind. The colors, materials and shapes all fall into place in a modern way and the show featuring a mime who did everything to get the models' attention was a creative way to present the playful collection. Congratulations and welcome to the Honduran Fashion industry Palette! Good collection!
Fashion Week Honduras 1/4
"Go BIG or go home!" like my adorable friend Gaby says. That is why this comeback is huge! Recently, Honduras celebrated its very own Fashion Week again and in my opinion it gets better every year. Still long way to go but getting better by the minute. This year I had the opportunity to collaborate with Fashion Week Honduras and My Little Wardrobe covered the entire event with the help of a very close friend but most importantly, a great photographer called Nancy Allen. Thank you Fashion Week Honduras an most specifically Fanne for all your support and for giving us this opportunity!
In this post I will take you to Honduras and we will have a look at the first three shows of the first day.
The day started with a dance show from the team in the dance school Patricia Paz.
Caroll Malloy

Photography: Nancy Allen
The opening fashion show was Caroll Malloy. She describes he line as "whimsical with sexual magnetism". The designer is born and raised in Miami but has roots in Honduras and this is her second time presenting a collection in Fashion Week Honduras. In my opinion the collection was very structured and at the same time elegant and feminine. The theme rings some bells though...
Amber Drü

Photography: Nancy Allen
Amber presented her debut womenswear collection which was inspired in New York City (where she currently lives). The color palette used in the collection clearly resembles a NY feeling and it gives a modern, edgy mood to it all. The bold lining colors used to contrast the black and grey tones used in the garments give the collection a fun twist and show good finishes. Leather is of course big this season and that was a hit! All in all a consistent and good collection!
Tirso Rubio

Photography: Nancy Allen
If you are from Honduras and like fashion you know who he is. In my very humble opinion Tirso is a designer to keep an eye on. I was introduced to his designs last fashion week and I was completely blown away. Did I mention he is a self-taught designer?? This year he came back with his "Afterhours" collection which is born from the idea of the human being always wanting more. The collection is developed in the thought of the future, where, as the designer describes, we will live in between land and ocean, which is why blue is the main color in the collection. The ocean/land idea is also supported by the use of very contrasting materials and textures. I personally liked the denim skirts and the vests. I also like the use of accessories, they support what we have heard a lot for the 2011-2012 collections: "It's not which bag you're wearing, it's HOW you are wearing it!" Concluding: As a whole a very good collection with a consistent theme and as many mentioned, perfect finishes! Everything looked as it had been stitched by an angel, great on that side but also I believe sometimes less is better. Well done Tirso, you have won our heart once again!

Hope you have all enjoyed this introduction to the Fashion Week and keep our eyes open for the following posts.
Best of London FW
London fashion week (spring/summer 2012) is on, after NY Fashion Week and I cannot help but notice the differences between the two. I believe London FW has been so much better, design wise. It has offered much better design and in general a better Fashion Week. This only raises the expectations for Paris and Milan. Here are some images from what I consider to be the best of the week so far.

SPOT ON

We all like to be right, isn't that true? Well, if you want to be right this season you will probably get something with a dotted pattern as it is one of the strongest trends of the season. For me it is all about dotted+sheer fabrics as we can see in Stella McCartney's collection or about a dotted pattern with strong, contrasting colors like we can see more in Marc Jacobs. I have been searching for something like this in the last weeks but have not been successful in it, any suggestions are appreciated! =) I bet some store will have something similar as more of the fall and winter collections arrive.

Senaste outfiten. Pga. vädret och skolan har jag inte haft så många outfit inlägg på sistone men jag lovar att jag vill försöka förbättra det. Hade inte visat min kappa, köpte den på Nellys sommaroutlet, en riktig deal! Vad tycks?
Ha en trevlig helg allihop!

New In 2
As I mentioned yesterday, two new pieces have been recently received into my closet for autumn. Piece number two is a pair of leather look-alike leggings. The fit perfectly and match absolutely EVERYTHING! Basic, basic, basic. Next in line is another pair of pants but this time orange, red or green and in another fabric. Will post my current wishlist soon.

Like or dislike? Highly recommended to anyone, they are just basic for autumn and winter seasons.
P.S. Has anyone visited Zara lately, it is like fabrics jackpot! So many sorts of fabric this season, love it!

New In
Autumn is all over and the closet needs some update. Had a look at Zara the other day and I wanted to take the entire store home (no surprise there). Even though that clearly didn't happen haha, I took two pieces home which I believe will be an important part of the wardrobe this season. This top is one of them. Have been talking non-stop about the "caricature shapes" and it was about time to get a piece of my own. The metallic thread is just fantastic and it makes the pieces very versatile (for day as well as for evening).

Any thoughts? Has anyone had a look at Zara lately and is desiring something specific? Will post soon about this season's must-know-about trends in case you are also updating your closet.
Thomas Sabo

What do you think? Isn't in perfect? Does any of you also collect charms?

Living up to Expectations
Jil Sander left a very hig bar with his spring/summer 2011 collection. It was THE collection of the season and nobody could wait to see what was coming after that. The autumn collection had nothing to envy from the summer one, total hit! Its' shapes are being reproduced by all the budget fashion brands now and there is no better proof for success. As I wrote in a previous post, caricucature/bubble shapes rule the season! Isn't this red top/jacket perfect? I cannot think of a piece I desire more this season. Ejoy!

Fashion School
These last days have been so exciting, so many new experiences and so many new and interesting persons. Here are some images from our fashionable school.

Promoting the Honduran Fashion! Today we had a group work and I presented the honduran fashion in a poster. So happy to tell my classmates about fashion in Honduran, many don't even know where Honduras is. Hope you like the poster! By it you can see the contrasting swedish fashion.

Here you can see a tiny bit of the worlshops in school, they are simply breathtaking, feels like the real deal, you forget you are in a school.

Today we had a fashion show with garnments prepared in some hours byt the students, some were really great, sprry for the bad quality, I didn't have my camera.

New In
This beauty, as seen on Leona Lewis, arrived yesterday and made my day! Ready for school days and book carrying! It's spacy and light! Forgot to tell you I am working on a DIY pencil case made from plastic. Will show it when it's ready. Like my new baby? It comes from Paul's Boutique and it was bough on asos ;) It comes in some other fabulous colors, check them out!

Kim's Dresses
It took no one for surprise that reality TV star Kim Kardashian selected Vera Wang as the designer of the gown for her upcoming wedding (Aug. 20). The Kardashian family has had a close relationship with the designer for long and it was an obvious selection. What nobody yet knows is what the dress will look like. Searching for this answer, famous wedding site, brides.com, requested several designers to sketch fantasy wedding dresses inspired by her style. These three are my favorites, they completely represent her glamurous and stylish self. I would wear any of them, would you?

Watters for Kim Kardashian:
Beautiful organza gown inspired in Old Hollywod and accentuating her fabulous curves.

Ines Di Santo (right)
Gown features a detachable train which leaves a short sexy dress for the reception. It includes cou-out details and embroidered Swarovski crystals. Glamour to its best!
Designer Don O'Neill for Theia (left)
Designer tells to brides.com: "The details are extravagant and opulent, yet delicate, feminine, and sophisticated," "The lining is a pale pink that will show through from underneath just at the bottom of the skirt."
Don't they all represent her to perfection. Great suggestions but we are yet to be impressed by bridal gown guru Vera Wang!
The Striped Shirt
This summer I found this little treasure in H&M (the striped shirt). I just love it. So easy to wear and to match as well. This is one of the outfits I put together using it. With it comes a tip for those who live in Sweden. The day I wore this outfit, I went to a model-for-a-day session in a company called Model House. They have great make up artists there, I loved my make up! They also have great service and you pay only for the pictures you buy, not for the service itself. Great idea for a girls night out, a bachelorette pre-party or simply to get a great family picture. Enjoy!

MBFWStockholm 2
To complete the Stockholm Fashion Week report, here comes Rodebjer, Nhu Dhuong and Whyred. great week if you ask, stockholm fashion week continues getting better with time I believe. me but I wonder what you liked and disliked?

Rodebjer
Thoughts of life in a metropolitan night. The colors are fantastic and they bring a relaxed summer to us, with lose yet chic shapes. Rodebjer is one of my favorite swedish fashion houses and this season was no exception.

Nhu Duong
Sporty but classy unusual materials. Swedish minimalism is perfectly represented in this collection and again we see a sporty air to it as we saw in altewai.saome and hernández cortes. I see that as one of the big trends for the season. Are you up for an adventurous summer next year?

Whyred
A reduced range of base colors creates a 60's inspired masculine preppy-femininity. Lose figures are also a repeated feature for the season but that doesn't for a second allows sloppiness to take a stand on the runway.
-There you go. Thank you Stockholm for a great show, now we pass the torch to New York, always in our hearts and next in line for Fashion Weeks' season!
MBFWStockholm 1
Fashion Weeks world tour has begun and it did it in Scandinavia. This week it was Stockholm who held the spring/summer 2012 shows. This is one of the two posts in which I will sum up the events of the week for you all. Here goes:

Altewai.Saome
As described in the Mercedes Benz Fashion week site, " the collection mixes heavy embroidery with sporty cuts that makes the clothes useful for work as well as late nights out". Definitely my favorite collection of the entire week. So fresh!

Hernandez Cornet:
Minimalistic to the bone with inspiration from nature. This collection also had a sporty feeling to it. To me this is real scandinavian design. Not my type but many can certainly make this work.

Dagmar:
A neon explosion in some way. "Inspired by relaxed Moroccan lifestyle", "tailored for the modern vagabod". Nothing new in my opinion but great for a relaxed style.

Ida Sjöstedt:
Femenine and lusty. A painful, passionate love comes to mind. This is definitely a night out-collection or even a bedroom collection. Ida never ceases to impress us, we should never know what to expect from her and that's why she gets points from me, more than for the fashion itself.
There you go? What are your thoughts? Can't wait to see how these collections compare with the ones from the following fashion weeks (paris, milan, etc...)
